Walk up and down the malls as much as you wish. Try out your branded stuff as you please. But nothing can quite conjure up as much joy and as much bargains as street shopping. Walking in the roads that sell wares from little box-like ‘shops’ and spread out on the floor, is, in itself a fun experience. Street shopping is synonymous with cheap rates, great variety, friendly shopkeepers, quick bargains, life-long associations and a product that is good enough to be boasted about and cheap enough to be thrown after good use. The only disadvantage is that, everyone knows about these wow-factors about street shopping and hence it is quite a task to dodge the milling crowd! So if you want more for less and have some fun and adventure in getting that, street shopping is what you must seek!

Constant instant music seems to be the mantra on everyone’s lips in present times! With the advent of MP3 players, ipods and the like, of every conceivable shape, size, colour, price and capacity, every other person you see on the road has his ears plugged to music. If not for these flashy swanky music players, there are always the cell phones that come with ‘extra large’ splashed across their memory cards that allow for many songs to be stored and played from! Music has always been the most popular youth obsession and this new facility of ‘music on the move’ seems only to have added fuel to this raging fire! Although many have complaints of ear aches, head aches and the like, no one seems to care, as long as the music plays on!

Graham Bell sure wouldn’t have known how popular his little voice communicating tool would get! Be it a taxi driver or a business magnate- not one seems able to survive today without a telephone. Cellular phones have only made it even simpler to converse. Long telephonic conversations are both enjoyable and irritating. The fact that we are able to communicate for so long with a person, though physically so distant from them, makes these conversations priceless and lovely! But holding on to your mouth and ear piece for long or even having a hands-free dangling from your ears continually makes the whole process very irritating and annoying. But no matter what, the fact that life has come to an advanced mode where you could still crack that old joke to your cousin at the other end of the globe over phone, is something to be proud of!

No matter how many new paints, colour pencils and sketch pens invade the market; nothing can quite beat the lure, simplicity and beauty of crayons. When we were wee ones tottering about in our first of many attempts at being the next Picasso, it was crayons that aided us. Mostly made of wax, the layer of colour that crayons smudge onto paper gives it a quality that surpasses every other medium of colour! A rough finish, a striking vividity and a child-like simplicity in output are the essential trademarks of crayons. Although we’ve outgrown our baby-suits, crayons are something which, somehow, everyone seems to never grow tired of!

There is hardly a month to go for the Indian premier league cricket matches to start. We all witnessed the massive bid amounts and now the teams have been formed and all the hype has started building! There are totally eight teams and players from most of the test playing nations have been included in the IPL. Lets hope it will provide us great entertainment!
